Today in NASCAR news:
- Braun Racing announces 2010 Cup starts. Braun Racing has announced that they plan to enter five Sprint Cup events (Daytona 500, March Atlanta, Chicago, Indianopolis and Oct. Charlotte races) with Reed Sorenson behind the wheel of the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota.
- Michael Waltrip Racing and NASCAR announce licensing partnership. NASCAR and MWR announced Wednesday, Jan. 13, that they have formed a licensing partnership in which NASCAR will become the sole licensing representative. NASCAR’s licensing business will attempt to grown and provide retailers with new and more innovative MWR merchandise, utilizing different possible venues.
- BB&T continues sponsorship with Richard Childress Racing. The BB&T Corporation has extended its partnership with RCR as primary sponsor for Clint Bowyer’s No. 33 Chevrolet for nine races including the Sprint AllStar race in May. They will also continue to be an associate sponsor of Bowyer’s Chevrolet for the remaining races.
- CitiFinancial continues sponsorship with Roush Fenway Racing. The Nationwide RFR No. 6 Ford to be driven by rookie of the year candidate Ricky Stenhouse Jr. this season will have CitiFinancial as the primary sponsor for 18 races and associate sponsor for the remaining races.
- Jason White to drive for SS Green Light Racing. SS Green Light Racing has signed White to drive the No. 23 Dodge Ram for the full Camping World Truck series 2010 season. GunBroker.com will sponsor White for a selected amount of races. Doug Howe is set to be White’s crew chief.
- Cody Cambensy signs with Upshaw-Adams Racing. Cambensy, a sprint car driver, has signed to race for UAR in the NCWTS. He will join other unannounced UAR drivers this season as UAR attempts a limited schedule.
